52 weeks of happiness

the project got started while ago, this is my second post for it. and while i tend to often disregard the happiness around me, this is leading me to it.




it was wonderful happiness celebrating elias' 12th birthday. starting out at our breakfast table with a long meandering row of candles and the wooden chickens... there is no need to tell you how happy the big boy was!
later in the day the grand parents showed up and "delivered" o yummy cake topped with lots of their own strawberries! them being happy not having to fly across the atlantic as in past years but just a mere 30 minutes car ride.
and once more the swing on our chestnut tree, it is a dependable source of happiness, even more so on a birthday day!

the yellow tub

it has been hot yesterday and thea insisted to take a bath in the yellow tub. it's perfect there is enough water heated up in the hose that the first filling for the yellow tub is just about right for a temperate refreshing bath.



no it is not boring at all, watching her is fun and she has been sitting in the tub for at least one hour... coming out for dessert and lemonade. o yes home made elder flower cordial, which a friend made herself. this would be a post in and of it self, though i will not go there. very simple pick elder flowers, a lot rinse them and soak them in a bucket of water with sugar. it will have to sit in the sun, covered with a tea towel, for a few days. you will have to try each night do find out if it is prickly enough...

knitting and grilling

again and again i treasure our garden in the middle of the city. it's such a treasure, a little island where we live. a few birch trees, three tall pines and of course our shade tree the big chestnut.
some afternoon knitting under the tree is lovely, especially with the new project, a tea leaf cardigan for naomi. i was originally planning on using a different colour, but she decided on this one, it's ok with me.




the grill has been used all year round, ok midwinter was not really grill weather, but we used the tripod to hang a big kettle and have spiced cider. sometimes even cheese fondue....
now we are back to sausage, kebabs and veggies. the sausages this time were pork, directly from my brothers farm, and they are very yummy.
i'm sure there will be many fire to enjoy and lots of yummy dinners prepared in our garden

and the camera on hand, what else is there to do?
having a bit of fun with amos is very likely to turn into having lots of fun and enjoying smiles from bystanders, basically being the entertainment of the town square!
