maundy thursday

it's so quickly come upon me. barely 4 weeks ago lent started and now, we are in the middle of holy week. maundy thursday is the start of the holiest days, as jesus gave us the gift of the eucharist. he was so transparent so true as he shared the last meal with his diciples, "do this in memory of me", was his commission and it is still true to us. he also went on with the commandment to love one another in the sign of the foot washing. this last supper is very much in contrast with the agony, the betrayal and arrest of jesus. as i enter into this season of easter, i'm very much aware of this and i'm glad to be able to be touched by the sadness, as i prepare for good friday. knowing the easter joy is close...
