what an exciting day

we have planned the visit to a friend of ours for a while now and thea was very excited to come along. just the two of us, while the older kids were in school this morning...
this special friend of ours has been my teacher in elementary school. she taught me sewing, crocheting, knitting and so many more skills. i'm very grateful for her patience and the love for handicrafts she passed on to me. and i'm sure to many more girls (back in the "olden days" just the girls got to learn all the fiber arts and household crafts, the boys had one more hour of phys ed. and two hours less school.....)

so here we go, d had 5 "joggeli's" ready for thea to pick her favorite one...
there was some meddling going on, but again and again she wanted to play with the same one. the one with the green sweater and striped hat!

and home we trod, with a new friend in her arms

elias and chickens, or in this case a rooster...
we have to try hard not to call him "mister tweedy". though there is to say, he loves his chickens and would not want to get them into pie, no never.

scooting with the big brother... yes it is a favorite of thea's

lots of things happening on a day in mid april in the household of or the rn's...

How lovely to have learned handicrafts at school. I learned from my family but would have loved to have been taught at school too.
