visiting the rhine fall and schaffhausen

having a guest from america is great! not just the wonderful time we are able to host our friend at our house but also taking her to special places...
today we visited the rhine fall. every time i go there i'm amazed about the volume of water falling on these rocks!
and we spotted an other adventures place to visit with the kids in tow.... i'm sure at some point i will tell you more about it.

up on the munot in schaffhausen (one more link) we enjoyed a picnic lunch. it is a circular fortification, so massive and enormeouse. i was once more taken back into the 16th century and stories started spinning in my mind...

the "haus zum ritter" was built in the year 1492. it is known as the typical renaissance fresco, painted around 1568, north of the alps by tobias stimmer. thea was not super impressed, she was much more excited to ride her "like a bike" through the old city center...

and of course play in the fountains, and be cool with the hat on her had which we usually use to protect the camera in my bag...

and by the way, the three older kids are at camp for the next 4 days, so we just keep on doing some more sight seeing...
