i remember those sweet treats from back when we lived in boston. the rugelach was definitely a wonderfully sweet and delicious treat from the blue frog or some other pastry shops along beacon street toward brookline. this is the first time i made it on my own, the wonderful cookbook from smitten kitchen has been inspiring and got me "back on track". as sometimes, i just need to be reminded of a taste, and i want it so much, that i get myself organized in the kitchen.

it was super easy, to whip together the dough and with a bit joy and lots of happy expectation energizing me, the more messy part of assembling the rugelach was done in no time.
everyone in the house loves them and i do think the idea of raspberry jam and chocolate is fabulous. i will make them again soon.
